The first episode of “Saki dan je na fešta” section by Čujemo se takes us to Acquaviva Collecroce, in na-našo, or rather in na-našu, Kruč.
Even this year, unfortunately, pandemic stopped one of the most beautiful festivals we have here: fešta do Maja (Maja festival).
Every May 1st, in Acquaviva people are celebrating the arrival of spring and its fruits through this propitiatory rite, with songs and folk dancings along the streets of the village.
Differently from last year, in Kruč, the festival has been felt so much more, even without the festival sounds throughout the village. Many people came back to Kruč for the occasion and many players, spontaneously, improvised several music exhibitions.
“Naš Život” association, renewing last year’s contest, invited all the inhabitants in realizing a small reproduction of the Maj puppet, with stuff found at home randomly.
But what’s the real name? Maj, Maja,…? Listen to the podcast to learn more about it!
We hope to properly celebrate this amazing festival next year.
